PLUS MINUS INTERESTING (PMI) EVALUATION OF THE FIRST BASICS SELF CARE TASTER SESION I WENT ON (INFO ABOVE)
Each idea will be in clusters rather than lists of each... Highlight things to use for my sessions.
+ great homely atmosphere with a sharing of self care techniques
- could food prep be that easy at a garden venue?
? how do I feel about workshops in my house
+ well attended
- many cpd learners rather than community members doing it on referral
? how easy to fill courses,
+ self care was first of 5. Great intro and I wanted more
- a little basic for me in terms of new info but I soaked up style and content and got new ideas. Perfect for inspiring people and for those with very little knowledge it would be revolutionary.
? how would people attending just one course change dynamic
+Alex had a helper to open doors, wash up, tidy as she went along. Also good delegation of tasks to those on the course too e.g. smoothie making. I saw she had a timetable to work from to keep on track.
- group dynamics key for the feel good aspects of the peer mentoring. Great here but be aware how much to keep control.
? where group coming from, individuals or groups?
+ workshop notes comprehensive
- means lots of preparation needed in next few months.
? makes facilitation easier if you have got workshop materials together yourself and then can enjoy tweaking them.
+lots of nibbling and tasting. great recipes, pretty table display.
- how accessible are pomegranates and wholefoods other than from supermarket in estates where I aim to work in?
? think washing up and resources to hand (why in kitchen is easier).
+Enthusing about herbs and plants. Pips, skin and pith.
- looked at plant families briefly, Id be interested in outdoor and plant based part to session.
? as herbalists we are perfect place to promote virtues of plants.
+ herbal benefits of plants, self care body check at start. whole plants rather than isolated constituents. Complexity of body, circadian rhythm, blood sugar stability etc.
- this issue of herbalists and being insurable could be tricky (on my personal herbalist insurance?)
? how to know when to refer to doctors for insurance purposes. as well as plants perhaps a remedy to go away with each time would be good too.
+food sheet and MYMOP (2 symptoms) research sheet
- vague about collecting it in so could lose research data.
? allow people to take handouts and fill in a form for record keeping too.
